Forget that dry, flavorless falafel ubiquitous in Manhattan, everything at this landmark corner of Astoria's "Little Egypt" enclave is fresh and richly spiced. No menus, no sign outside, but the ornate entrance lets you know you're in store for somethin' fine. Tiny cinnamon-scented room of tapestries, mosaics, stained glass, and happy regulars. Stellar service always a plus. Mosey on over to one of the excellent hookah bars nearby for the perfect after-dinner shisha pipe.
