After a multi-million-dollar reno in 2009, the MYC, which has sat on 35 acres of water-front property on Montauk's Star Island since 1929, emerged radically changed, yet still maintains a certain beachy quaintness. The 107 rooms and 23 villa cottages are well appointed with luxe details at every turn, harking back to the roaring days when resort impressario Carl Fisher (who founded Miami Beach) bulit the original clubhouse -- and making much of the time between a bad memory. Besides two restarants and two seperate bars and lounges, a spa, fitness center, two pools and tennis courts, there's also a 232-slips in a marina which is, of course, fit for mega-yachts.
