BlackBook Lowdown

Fashion-forward and frenetic Italian in the lobby of the ultra-modern New York Times building. A little cheaper and a little more modern than the motherships, though just as lively. Pan-Italian menu features the usual suspects done well, plus seasonal specials.

The Bice group ceased to back Montenapo pre recession. The only thing Bice there is the idea. Three employees defected there from Bice, Best of luck!

New Italian

Wow, I'm so glad I finally went to eat at this new place. I've always sort of glanced at on my way home as it was being contructed until its opening. I mean I didn't even know it opened already til I saw a doorman welcoming some swanky looking clienteles. So, I dragged my sister in one Friday night and had a fabulous time feeling fabulous and eating fabulous food. Okay, so the food - I dont really like crab cake but as my sister ordered it for her appetizer I had a bite - my sister had to swat my hand out of her food, darn delicous! Had the 3 samples of pasta for main entree - perfect sizing for what I had in mind. Though, kept using the bread to eat the pasta with - darn good bread! Though, it's not completely hot out yet had the mango sorbet - darn good as well. So worth the money and 2 hours we spent in that little house of glass!
