It's the one that really kicked off the Nuevo Latino craze here, yet it's still hard to believe that Nacional 27 is part of the cookie-cutter club known as Lettuce Entertain You. The scene is electric, the music vibrant and the food tasty. Before Nacional, most Chicagoans didn't know what the hell an empanada was. But executive chef Francisco Vilchez puts his spin on the Latin classic and other dishes from the 27 countries in Latin America and Adam Seger's fresh and creative spins on mojitos and margaritas will have you dancing on the table by night's end.
