Chicagoans, you can officially chill the fuck out: Nightwood has opened. Jason Hammel and Amalea Tshilds, owners of the famed Lula Cafe in Logan Square, have given Pilsen, somehow, even more street cred. Exposed brick, cork, glass and natural light surround those dining on chef de cuisine Jason Vincent’s organic food, but not before they've walked through the fully covered outdoor cafe everyone must experience in order to access the main door. The menu is seasonal, but early favorites are the Mississippi prawns, smoky wood-grilled lambchops, braised short ribs and one hell of a burger. (BYOB at the moment and there's a liquor store next door.)
