Nirvana

Editorial Review

Indian Buddhism inspires all-vegetarian downtown eatery. Bland concrete exterior gives way to exotic temple lobby, gorgeous eastern smells, silk settees. Jagged row of tables and chairs, stainless steel plates lure the more heavily-hairsprayed workers of K Street and their turtle-necked male counterparts.  Low lights, ashram vibes. Menu follows an eight-fold path of "right" cuisine, from creamy lassis to gentle curries. Big business lunch buffet cruises weekly through the regions of India: Wednesday is Kerala, Friday is Rajasthan.
