The Orleans' Big Easy theme is largely outside, with the enormous, boxy casino painted up as pastel row houses with wrought-iron balconies. Inside, the gaming floor stretches for acres, with mostly locals around the tables, and the supersizing extends to the 70-lane bowling alley and 18-screen movie theater. The Orleans' arena is one of the larger performance spaces in Vegas: Everyone from Gladys Knight to Paul Oakenfold to the Las Vegas Wranglers hockey team have played here. (The hockey team is best-known for its amusing promotions, like "Rod Blagojevich Prison Jumpsuit Night" and, no, we are not making that up.) April's Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly convention has relocated to the Orleans after years at the Gold Coast, with pompadours and petticoats gathering the tribes for three days of standup bass music and a legendary Saturday car show. In June, the Miss Exotic World burlesque pageant/convention will draw tassel twirlers from around the world.
