Paciugo

Editorial Review

In Italian, Paciugo means "messy concoction." In Lincoln Square, it means "about effing time the neighborhood got a good dessert shop." Using perfectly ripe fruit and artisanal Italian ingredients, the shop has tubs and tubs of gelati and sorbetti like toasted coconut, amaretto  chocolate chip, strawberry basil, black pepper olive oil and Mediterranean sea salt caramel. Not only that, but there's affagato (three scoops of gelato in espresso or cioccolata) and espresso drinks and shakes. The inside is crisp with lemon-colored chairs and, if you're dragging around a rug rat, there's a nice elevated train set in the corner to keep 'em occupied.
