This sister casino to the adjacent Venetian works a luxurious theme that's part vintage Europe, part modern Beverly Hills. The gaming area--decorated in chandeliers, skylights, and Oriental carpet--is smaller than many on the Strip, but offers a full range of tables, with an emphasis on Asian games like pai gow poker. While the Palazzo shares the Venetian's spa and other activities, the resort does have its own pool area, where guests can cool off in an Olympic-sized pool with wading lounges and Strip views. Perhaps the Palazzo's biggest entertainment draw--aside from "Jersey Boys"--is the Shoppes at the Palazzo, a collection of high-end boutiques including Chloe, Burberry, and Thomas Pink, as well as a Barney's New York flagship store. All Palazzo rooms are suites, where guests receive the kind of attentive service they're accustomed to, from check-in to turndown. Rooms are done in subtle terracotta tones, with velvet and brocade fabrics and touches of marble and chrome. The giant bathrooms are well-lighted and mirrored and come stocked with every toiletry you could possibly have forgotten. Luxury doesn't necessarily mean waste: The Palazzo was recently named the largest "green" building in the world by a national council.
