The Maloof empire rolls on with the addition of Palms Place to the Palms complex. The awkward location means that one has to walk through the skytube--an airport-like, long-ass hallway--to get there from the Palms. Once there, the spa, hotel, and restaurants are connected by more hallways and elevators with enough weird turns and blind corners to bring to mind Logan's Run--or how easy it would be for the paparazzi to trap visiting celebs in here. The lobby, once acheived, is a big, squarish, wood-paneled room with a row of serenely accomodating desk personnel. Many of the units are condos, but a variety of studios and one/two-bedoom suites are available. Penthouses feature all the anticipated luxuries, along with full kitchens and private balcony pools that allow Strip-view soaking. Palms Place is also home ot the Drift Spa, with full spa treatment, as well as a supposedly authentic Turkish Hamman--a sort of mixed-gender beehive sauna.
