Editorial Review

Sandwiched between Cha Cha Cha and Murio's Trophy Room on a well-traveled stretch of Haight, friendly kitchen is one of the few Puerto Rican spots in the entire Bay. Chef/founder Alex Jackson was formerly a Goldman Sachs moneymaker; but we won't hold that against him, as he's clearly passionate about underrated PR cuisine. We're partial to the Classic Cubano sandwich (nicely thin-sliced and savory), but it's hard to decline the pollo encebollada: moist and onion-y flavored chicken thighs with a side of plantains. To wash it down, Bustelo iced coffee is a bitter treat. Small space is defined by turquoise counter, exposed brick, communal picnic tables and a good lookin' staff.
