Is it a bar? Is it a restaurant? Is it an event space? Guess what: It's all three, which is why P&L has earned international attention since opening its doors to loads of local buzz. The sprawling space with rows of communal tables and sparse design is piece de resistance for nightlife impresarios Jesse Girard and Richard Lambert, who poached up-and-coming chef Matty Matheson from the now-defunct Oddfellows, to create an of-the-moment meat-heavy menu (lamb-heart tartare, anyone?) for the young-and-successful to chow down on before going bonkers in the gritty rock club below. The crown jewel in Parkdale's ongoing renaissance.
