Members-only Soviet speakeasy tucked away discreetly in courtyard behind kiosk on Ulitsa Myasnitskaya 24. Call ahead and see if you can make a reservation. If the stars are aligned properly you might just get in. Insider jokes about life in the USSR run rampant down to the beer mugs. Entire rooms are devoted to Soviet kitsch-childhood toys, propaganda posters, utilitarian furnishings. Food is traditional and authentic - try the meat filled pelmeni. Raucous energy on some evenings when locals fill the place. Prepare to drink a lot of vodka, make lots of new friends, and puke in the bathroom. Nazdarovya!
