Pleasant House Bakery

Editorial Review

Pleasant doesn’t begin to describe the tastiness of this Bridegeport bakery and café’s signature dish: savory pies. Flaky crusts of pies and pasties complement the various veggie (mushroom and kale) and meat (chicken in curry spices, pork pâté and steak with root vegetables) fillings. Daily specials such as fish and chips Friday and bangers and mash Wednesdays fill out the menu, not to mention housemade ginger ale and tropical tea soda. It’s BYOB, but you don’t have to look further than the neighboring Maria’s Packaged Goods & Community Bar for beer and wine.
