No one does the champagne lounge concept better than Pops, which arrived in Lakeview more than 25 years ago. But the pioneer, which moved its live-jazz-and-bubbly bar to River North in 2006, has thankfully updated to compete with the dozen or so trendy bars in the area. The ultimate date bar has expanded to include a retail store, raw bar and small-plate menu. (Head downstairs for the intimate jazz lounge that feels more like a cozy basement den.)
