The stately Assembly Restaurant's summer veranda features telescopes and pillow-strewn sofas. Rooms come in crisp imperialist shades of red and gold. Spend some time in one of the hotel's two saunas. Who knows? You may end up sweating it out with the foreign minister of North Korea.
