While located in a prime location in a very classy setting, there are actually meals here under $10. The reason for this is that chef Tiffany Derry ("Top Chef" Season 7) wanted a place where her rich and poor friends could go and not have to settle for something they weren't willing to do. So the "private" menu is the usual chef-inspired fancier fare and the "social" menu are the less expensive (but still tasty) items. Private has some interesting items like the Tuna Pizza, Braised Oxtails and Duck Fat Fried Chicken and Social boasts Thai Mussels and Korean BBQ Short Ribs. Depending on which side of the restaurant you sit on, that's the menu you'll get, but you can order from either one if you ask nicely. Both are seasonally-based menus, but the Social side has more plates to share. The crowd varies but it's mostly upscale and often boisterous, so it's a fun atmosphere. It may look subdues from the outside, but it's worth a shot - on either side.
