New York » Restaurant » Brooklyn » Asian
Husband-and-wife owners turned to Brooklyn when the rent tripled for their Soho restaurant Cedrillon. Different borough, same Filipino/pan-Asian cuisine. Small plates of eclectic dishes: noodles, homemade kimchee, Korean pork balls, spicy tofu soup. Despite traditional touchstones, food is progressive combo of chef's favorite cuisines (Indonesian, Vietnamese, Cantonese). Like the food, vibe is homey and comforting. Crafty use of bamboo -- manipulated into artistic structures -- adds some additional Asian pizzazz.
