We could go on about the diplomatic remunerations of Brussels-based Rezidor Hotels opening a designer auberge in Moscow—play nice, Europa!—but we’re much more excitedabout Soviet culture’s graduation from its post-kitsch phase. The capital’s lavish new Radisson Blu will pay homage to Socialist Realism, with nearly a thousand original artworks displayed throughout the hotel. Not the comforts of the bourgeois West will be ignored; the hotel will feature on-site luxury retail, four restaurants, a Finnish sauna and a swish 31st-floor cocktail bar. Fabulous, tovariches!
