Though there are now eight Rasa restaurants in the capital, this one in the hippy-ish North London enclave of Stoke Newington was the first to open – and it’s still the best. Specialising in delicious South Indian vegetarian food – deep-fried lentil patties, gram flour pancakes stuffed with spicy potatoes, and beetroot and spinach curry – served in a vibrant bright-pink and orange dining room, it is packed every night of the week with N16’s writers, musicians and actors.
