Taking its name from the red “bar” sign that hung above the door when it was Balzarini’s Italian Restaurant in the 1900’s, this brasserie is dressed to impress the summer crowd: wraparound windows, white-cloaked tables, and handsome wood floors that meet many a designer heel. The American cuisine with an international twist won't make anyone miss the city, but luring fashionable candidates from East Hampton into South is impressive enough.
