Chicago » Bar » Ukrainian Village » Lounge
Ukrainian Village's Chicago Avenue is littered with rock n' roll lounges now, and Relax (formely called Pharmacy till the city made them change it) is probably the flashiest of them all with vintage-style wallpaper, luxe caramel leather banquettes and some rather loud funk, soul, rock or punk pumped out by local DJs. But unlike its counterparts (i.e., High Dive, Five Star Bar, Cleo's), you'll usually find yuppie neighborhood types chowing down on their signature handcrafted burgers created by Mas executive chef John Manion, replete with "special sauce." The rock photography on the walls is courtesy of legendary local lensman Paul Natkin and for sale.
