Résident

business thumbnail

Editorial Review

Just like mama used to make, only fancier. But not too fancy. Résident comes off as effortless. Shepherd's pie, grilled cheese and sloppy Joes are all brought up a notch or two. And get a load of this: the mini-Thanksgiving dinner -a whole stuffed Cornish hen with Yorkshire pudding, potatoes and turnip soufflé smothered in fig gravy. Loosen that belt buckle right now. Oui, the clientele is trying hard to look like they're not trying hard, but beneath the high, shiny copper ceilings and huge windows with warm wooden mouldings and floorboards, everyone seems right at home. Even the fluffy Albino bison head above the bar seems to approve.
