When Restaurant Magazine named le Meurice among the "World's 50 Best Restaurants" they described the place as "classic, timeless, shameless." Chef Yannick Alléno's superb cooking has within the space of five years taken le Meurice to the haute summit of cuisine. But the summit - recently tricked out by Philippe Starck - ain't cheap: the tag for an eight-place tasting menu is €220, with wine pairings adding another €160. But the three-course lunch (€90) provides an entry point for us mortals. Closed Saturday and Sunday.
