The Riviera may have opened in 1955, but its decor is pure 70s, from the smoke-mirrored ceilings to the purple neon tubing to the polished brass railing surrounding the fern-filled planters. The entertainment is similarly time-warped: A Russian ice show, the unchanged-since-1987 Crazy Girls cabaret, impersonators of Barbra, Frank, Neil, and Elvis. The bars and gaming draw locals along with the tourists, a mostly blue-collar crowd come for an unpretentious good time. Restaurants run to the usual buffet/steakhouse/Chinese offerings, as well as coffee shop and food court. Rooms are among the cheapest on the Strip, but as no-frills as you'd expect for the price; "signature" rooms have iPod clock/radios, LCD TVs, refrigerator. The Riviera's timeless quality has gotten it roles in films including Diamonds Are Forever, Casino, Ocean's Eleven, Go, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
