VENUE IS CLOSED. Room 21 comes off like a naughty supper club circa 1959, a burlesque in animal print, red leather and velour damask wallpaper. The giant room's long, open entryway makes your arrival feel royal, with subjects dining at a long banquette with two-tops to your left and a beautiful long bar on the right backed by a wall-sized liquor-stacked mirror bordered by Zebra-striped fabric. After a martini ($13) and a steak salad (grilled flat iron, blue cheese olives, baby spinach, horseradish vinaigrette, $14), you'll wonder when Dita von Teese is going to float down from the ceiling in a giant cocktail glass.
