Total Sao Paulo Lowdown
Historical ristorante from the '40s in the heart of the old Italian district and the place to get a tableside serenade, accordion and all, from a group of oldies, goodies with your order of the polpettone and goat leg dishes. Chianti bottles dangle along the dark-wood-flanked walls; the adjoining room feels more wedding-banquet hall, with the soundtrack of crying kids too. With an atmosphere that would make any Don proud plus generous portions sized for two served by waiters nearly as old as the fixtures. Are we in Italy? Quite convincingly, yes. |

Great choice for an Italina. Older São Paulo, tradition, real waiters, satisfying meals and unpretentious ambience on the ground floor.
