Ruby's BBQ

Editorial Review

The pit-smoked 'cue at this university-area stalwart is a relative nobody when stacked up against Stubb's, Salt Lick, and the beef barns of Lockhart. But Anthony Bourdain is a fan. As are the blues cats who frequent nearby Antone's Record Shop. They're drawn to the simplicity of the all-natural brisket supplemented with Cajun fixins. They think the omnipresent cow skulls are a hoot, if not a reminder that places like this are a dying breed.
