Editorial Review

From the good peoples behind Teutonic Mission stalwart Walzwerk, uber-clean, spare and smart corner deli serves a small but very good lunch menu to freelancers and neighborhood types. Veal schnitzel with white egg sandwich is tender and gratifying, as is the herbed cheese spatzle. Fantastic, kooky collection of German deli goods for sale: mustards, pickles, pickled sausages, brotkorb (breads), organic sodas and (yes!) Katzenzugen (“cat’s tongue”) chocolates. Best part? Roll your own cigarette from their collection of loose tobacco.
