Schneeweiss

Editorial Review

Almost undercover in a semi-quiet residential corner of Freidrichshain, discovering Snow White (Schneeweiss) for the first time has its own fairy tale charm. Dusted floor-to-ceiling in glimmery silver shades, aesthetic is upscale compared to neighborhood standards of squatters and students, delighting minority of locals gainfully employed. Style like this is rare for F-hain's graffiti-covered piss-stained alleys. Alpine kitchen's Bavarian cuisine, Spaetzel (highbrow mac n' cheese), schnitzel and other Black Forest dishes, is worth venturing off overly trendy, tourist-infested Simon-Dach-Strasse into Friedrichshain's darker corners. Backroom smokers lounge's romantic sauna-feel keeps late hours for after-dinner fireside drinks. Also open for lunch and Sunday brunch buffet.
