This restaurant has the rare status of being offically sanctioned by the Sinatra family and is crammed with memorabilia, from the photos of Frank and Audrey Hepburn hanging out at the Sands by the entrance to the snaps of Mr. Sinatra and Mr. Wynn in the private "Chairman's Room," with a few Oscars and Grammys in between. Chef Theo Schoenegger, of LA's Patina, serves as chairman in the kitchen, creating a menu that is far from the red sauce and cannelloni one might imagine, but rather applies fresh ingrediencts to a carefully chosen selection of antipasti, primi, carne, pesci, and dolci. The room is Palm Springs swank and the crowd is similarly upscale and well-preserved.
