It's not your average Montauk restaurant that offers cherry cola braised Berkshire pork belly and mixes fermented black garlic mayonnaise into its lobster roll, but this newcomer situated right between the beach and the center of town does. Chef Todd Mitgang of Cascabel Taqueria breaks his menu down into "Raw Bar" and "Everything Else" (including local and seasonal fare and a $16 burger). Cocktails like the Greenacres (Hendrick's, cucumber, watermelon and lemon) fit the food well, as does the ample draft beer selection. The scene is laid back, with ceiling fans spinning lazily over a dining room that seems like it was born sun-bleached.
