ust when you thought the city's twee little bakeries had moved toward detente in the battle of bite-sized delights, this LA-based cupcakery opens up shop near Bloomingdales, bringing all the old tensions to the fore. But while local bakers might be sweating, it's heaven for foodies with a sweet tooth, with a whole new world of cupcakes in flavors like banana, chai latte, dark chocolate, and the famous red velvet. Owner Candace Nelson focuses on cupcakes and cupcakes only, taking occasional breaks from running the shop to be a judge on the Food Network's Cupcake Wars. Get your treats boxed up for later, or go buck-wild in the store's tasting room.
