Starbelly

Editorial Review

Hotly-anticipated opening from Deborah Blum and Adriano Paganini, the smart crew behind Beretta. Looks like a flyover state bbq shack from the outside, neatly-appointed, clean and bright on the inside; quickly became a regular brunch spot for Castro foodie types. Hits a much-needed sweet spot: diverse menu is organic/local but also cheap/accessible, a major accomplishment given the too-precious and pricey recent openings - this is contemporary Cali-comfort food at it's best. Prather Ranch burger is a winner. Get the sunny side egg pizza for brunch.
