Stein’s is Old Hollywood for the Park City set, and like Old Hollywood, it’s slightly forgotten in the haze of nu-celebrity swag. Which is a bonus. Décor like “Cassidy”-era Redford, if “Cassidy”-era Redford were a hotel. Style is Craftsman for the golden parachute crew. Ski-in/ski-out access doesn’t escape innuendo. Rooms appointed in “imported European,” which is resort-town code for “oversized pine.” Impossible during Sundance, impractical almost always, still, hard to beat. Summer means discounted rooms and half-off coupons in the local Park Record. Markdown dining at in-house gastro sensation, Glitretind, is, as the Germans say, simply Ach Dü Lieber!
