Push past red velvet curtains to enter New York-style speakeasy housed literally under the guise of Astor bar/restaurant hidden in the basement. Posters of sexy pin-up girls on the walls and barmen sophistically dressed in red ties and fitted black suits hunker behind a marble-top bar. A classy vibe. Late twenty to thirty-something crowd with muito credit knock back high-priced martinis to Bob Dylan and Nina Simone. The food of choice: white panna cotta with caviar or gazpacho with vodka jelly. Sparse lighting keeps the mood scandalous, appropriately in line with the Prohibition Era days.
