Sutra

Editorial Review

Former home of Bar XVI, now a sexy and cozy scene with South Asian accents. Red velvet, candles galore, and a sloping stone bar. Hosts the occasional live music or performance act. Otherwise it's DJs playing fairly generic beats to a club-lite crowd, though somebody saw Rosario Dawson here once. Two floors make it good for large parties, but call ahead to make sure the friendly staff knows you're coming.
