One could spend all day eating at Tavern. Maybe that's the idea. Nothing tavern-esque about the setting, except a lunch menu slightly reminiscent of pub grub. Everything done up quite fancy. For dinner, halibut in fig leaves, duck confit and $40 steak frites that have never before graced a bar top. The front of the building houses the bakery, the middle holds the bar, with old-fashioned cocktails and small bites, and the back is the summery, elegant restaurant with tall glass walls and a cathedral ceiling. If money's not a question, eat the day away.
