The Sandoval brothers--Alfredo, Felipe and Patricio--of Mercadito renown have opened Tavernita, which falls somewhere between a Med-Latin restaurant and a sexy, elegant lounge. Tavernita is in the great tradition of dining-spot-as-nightlife-destination. Indeed, dressed up by New York’s Seed Design, it exudes a rustic glamour, with a copper tin ceiling, dramatically backlit tequila bottle display, works by 3D graffiti artist Erni Vales, and large communal banquettes. Indulge at the raw bar, or nibble late-night bites and swig cocktails by the Tippling Brothers in the Barcito lounge area.
