Hard times trigger a retreat to Americana, and what could be more all-American and comforting than a crispy grilled cheese sandwich, served here with an SF foodie twist? Small, café-like space has clean, contemporary lines, adorned with 1950s kitchenette bric-a-brac and populated with bespectacled copy writers and assistant creative directors from area ad agencies. All sandwiches are made on house made bread - we love the formidable Mousetrap with Tillamook aged white cheddar, havarti, monterey jack and tomato, and the incredible Mushroom Gruyere with fontina, roasted wild mushrooms, gold potatoes, leeks, thyme and butter.
