Good food and railway stations have always been mutually exclusive ideas in England, so this upmarket dining room in the newly refurbished St Pancras – from where trains depart for the Continent – created a real buzz when it opened in 2008. The high-quality, reasonably priced food (tuna steak with white beans and chorizo, bubble and squeak with a poached egg), is designed to appeal to both British and French travellers.
