Oh, The Chateau: if this Deer Valley lodge isn’t the stuff of little girl’s honeymoon dreams, I don’t know what is. One of the two shining Deer Valley Crown Jewels (the other being Stein’s), The Chateau is genuinely regal. No expense is spared when it comes to in-room quality, no attention to detail neglected by the dutiful staff—no joke, if you’re going to pop the question (or even some Crystal, for that matter), Silverlake Village’s breathtaking scenery and secluded setting are the right wingmen for your endeavor. Tile and linen, log and exposed beam inside; understated exterior. Rooms include private fireplaces, wet bars and kitchens, but with in-house dining like Bistro Toujours and private club Buvez, you won’t be using that latter much.
