In Russian, this spot is called "Kitayskiy Lyotchik Zhao-Da", but either way the name is absolutely adorable. Named after a partly-mythic character who made friends and lovers all over the world. A favorite haunt of students and romantic youths. Big and dirty and we like it that way. Traditional African music, punk rock, French folk singers all share a stage. A lot of messy/rowdy/drunkenness.
