Good ol' Wikipedia states "comrade" is a communist or military term for "friend." Indeed, this well designed watering hole is a place to commune with your close ones. Communist regalia flutters throughout the bar from the detailed National Geographic mags reminiscent of the era, to the Chinese lanterns and retro music. Well-heeled Torotonians will get close over tapas and martinis. In the back, parties of late 20 to early 30 somethings lounge in one of the many bentwood loungers in this new neighbourhood hang.
