5 Ninth tops off its townhouse with a vintage lounge. Exposed brick looks every bit its 19th-century origins, complemented with nice mix of retro/modernist furnishings. Small bar by the front windows for getting intimate with encyclopedic list of artisanal Manhattans. "Somewhere in..." adds Peychaud's and lemon oils to rye and cognac, "Man Hatin'" infuses bourbon with coconut. Small plates like liver mousse and steak tartare should you get the gourmet munchies.
