Classic early-’60s motor lodge cloaked in modernist comfort. Spacious studio-size rooms lit with sparse, modern lamps, broad beds doused in Southwestern palette. Visiting medical professionals, university types and members of George Lucas’ production team are regulars. Parking is free, pets are welcome, and G Bar’s one of the only bars around. Have a paintball fight among eucalyptus groves of nearby Presidio. Far from the downtown action though.
