The Lucky Lady

This no-frills Near North tavern boasts a plethora of deer heads and antler chandeliers on the wall, liquor served in 12 oz glasses and the usual cast of domestic and local brews. Bartenders wearing short skirts and high boots aren't mixing specialty cocktails but cheeseburgers, waffle fries and free pretzels are in abundance. Although the red-walled pool table room is ready, the wood-paneled basement lounge will open early 2009. Bottom line: a chic throwback to when getting drunk was the main purpose of hitting a bar.
