The Mercer Kitchen

Editorial Review

Modern industrial in luxe hotel basement equipped with mysterious oyster chef and candle-lit brick nooks. Look up from low-slung table into shadows of above passersby cascading though glass ceiling, strain for a peek at La Lohan sans panties. Eye-level food is worth seeing: knockout raw tuna and wasabi pizza, sea bass carpaccio, juicy whole lobster. Smidgen pretentious, but staff works hard. Excellent brunch flips best $12 pancakes ever.
