Not the band -- a genuine, unpretentious callback to old NYC. Simple, minimalist bistro decked with white-washed brick and black leather banquettes. Wall of framed mirrors reflecting lots of black-clad New Yorkers. Is it 1995 or something? True to the moniker, kitchen kicks out short but delectable list of Nouveau American creations. Brilliant fish taco starters, entrées like fall-off-the-bone jerk pork ribs, Maine lobster roll, and pan-roasted game hen. Crowd sure to shift as word gets out, though lack of taxidermy just may keep the flannelled and bearded at bay. Shhhhh.
