Perched on the edge of a lake, the hotel escapes Dubai’s concrete jungle. Majestic Arabian beauty beset by plain Jane personality. An underdog to a city abounding in accolade. It sits shyly next door to the colossal Burj – the world’s tallest building, the world’s largest mall, the ingeniously titled Dubai Mall. Rooms are large but decor predictable with heavy curtains, Arabian lattice woodwork and hallway arches. Three onsite restaurants are credible but still banal in choice: Asian, Arabic and steakhouse.
